The men represented America from New Hampshire to California and cities and farms in between. Some were immigrants. Many had family members who fought in World War II. Some were senior in rank and battle-hardened while others were on their first combat tour. These children of America’s Greatest Generation and patriotic volunteers in a war that was bitterly controversial back home came together at Lang Vei and didn’t back down.
